The cost of going to an NHL game has been rising for decades. In the 1980s and the early 90s, fans could go to a game with their families for under 500 bucks including food tickets and parking. In 2023 however, the situation is very different. With so many NHL teams in troubled financial states, the teams feel the need to bring the prices up across the whole board.

The Florida Panthers are battling the Vegas Golden Knights in the Stanley Cup finals and decided to get all they can from the fan base financially. They charged fans $100 plus tax for one parking spot.

That estimated that the Panthers made $1.9 million in US funds for just parking at FLA Live Arena based on those calculations.

It does not even include the ticket price, food, drinks even the program you could buy to follow the game.

It's safe to say that the NHL game is becoming unaffordable for the common person even in the Florida Panthers who normally have a hard time selling out their normal games and usually make good money when Canadian teams show up as many fans in that area are Canadian snowbirds looking to watch their beloved teams play in their neighbourhood.

Game 5 will be the first elimination game held in Vegas at T-Mobile Arena on June 12th at 8:00 PM Eastern where the Knights could win their 1st Stanley Cup.
