The Referees For Tonight's Oilers vs Knights Game Officially Revealed
As the Edmonton Oilers prepare to face the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1 of Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight, the officials have been announced. Jon McIsaac will be the head referee, with Gord Dwyer as the second referee. Bevan Mills and David Brisebois will be the linesmen, with Kyle Rehman as the standby. These are the same referees as game 5 Oilers vs LA Kings, which was a mess of a match in the officiating department.
Officials for Game 1 of EDM vs VGK tonight:
2 - Jon McIsaac
19 - Gord Dwyer
53 - Bevan Mills (linesman)
96 - David Brisebois (linesman)
Standby: Kyle Rehman
Referees are an integral part of any game, and they can often be the deciding factor in a close match. Fans of the Oilers will remember all too well the impact of the referees in the series against the LA Kings, where they felt that some of the games were unfairly influenced by the officials. As the Oilers look to advance to the next round, they will be hoping for a fair and consistent performance from the referees.
