Toronto Maple Leafs attempted to change the atmosphere of the arena after a goal was scored by changing the goal song for the 2023-2024 season.

The team's goal song for the past five years had been "You Make My Dreams" by Hall and Oates.

Don't expect to hear «Pursuit of Happiness» as the goal song for #LeafsForever games anymore. Told they won't be using it any longer this season.

Heard the Leafs received some complaints about the song's message and/or lyrics.

It was a remix of Kud Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness" that was played when new Maple Leafs forward Noah Gregor scored.

After a short stint as the new goal song, the Maple Leafs received multiple complaints to change it.

There were no specific complaints, but mainly about the lyrics, which the Maple Leafs never used in their remix.

It sounds like a Saturday night assignment for those with time and money to complain about a trivial matter on a Saturday night.

As of now, no official goal song has been released.

That has come to an end this season, however. When forward Noah Gregor scored the Leafs' first goal of the 2023-24 campaign in Wednesday night's 6-5 shootout win over visiting Montreal, the ensuing jubilation was scored to a version of Kid Cudi's rap hit "Pursuit of Happiness," remixed by DJ Steve Aoki.
