Vegas fans plan on trashing the ice in game 2
In 1996, the year of the rat was established when the Florida Panthers celebrated their victory by throwing rats on the ice.
This tradition was inspired by Scott Mellanby's remarkable feat of scoring two goals with the same stick he had used to kill a rat. The trend became popular during the Panthers' cup run that year.
However, some fans of the Vegas Golden Knights are planning to take things to a whole new level.
They intend to litter the ice with plastic flamingos after every victory in the Stanley Cup Finals.
I must say, this does not sound right, and I feel terrible for the ice-crew who will have to deal with the aftermath of this bizarre tradition.
