During last night's game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Anaheim Ducks, Connor Bedard had an incredible night. He notched a goal and four assists, flying around the ice all night. At one point, he approached the referees to ask them to get out of the way of the play more often.

Can you guys be like, get out of the way a little bit?

Yeah, I'm trying my best to stay out of the way, but you guys are fast and I'm slow.

It was a hilariously honest answer from the referee, and also shows Bedard becoming more comfortable with the ins and outs of NHL daily life - bargaining and pleading with the referees without giving them reason for a personal vendetta. As long as he keeps up his incredible play like last night, he shouldn't have much of a problem.

In his 52nd game last night, Bedard scored his 20th goal and got himself up to 51 points this year. After missing significant time after jaw surgery, he's still a lock to win the Calder Trophy. Scoring a point oer game is very impressive in an 18 year old rookie season, even more so considering the Blackhawks have no other good offensive players. Between his great talent and his jokes with the refs, Bedard is set to be a star in this league for a long time.
