Tyler Bertuzzi is known throughout the NHL for being one of the more blue-collar, greasy players around the league. That kind of style evidently extends to his equipment, as tonight's Leafs broadcast caught Bertuzzi using sticks that still have the sale sticker and barcode on them.

Apparently the sale sticker has some juice to it too, as Bertuzzi continued a recent hot streak with a goal tonight against Arizona. Earlier in the year, the broadcast caught another bizarre feature of Bertuzzi's stick with a ridiculous tape job at the top, barely covering the hole into the shaft.

After signing a one year prove it contract with the Leafs, Bertuzzi struggled to begin the year, but he's been coming into his own as of late, with 6 goals in the last 7 games. On the year, he has just 11 goals and 27 points in 57 games.

It's great to see into the small details of NHLers and their day to day routines their equipment. Hockey players are notoriously superstitious and creatures of habit, and it's great to see into the rituals they all employ to try to get any sort of boost they can against the competition - even if it's clearly in their head, or a sale sticker on the shaft of the stick.
