Hockey fans in Alberta are blessed with an incredible provincial rivalry between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames, which makes this jersey foul one of the worst in history.

An old photo has been making the rounds on social media today of some kind of hockey fan walking around in horrifically customized jersey. It's a Calgary Flames jersey, with number 97 and McDavid on the back. It's a total jaw-dropper.

Flames writer Julian McKenzie tore into the fan for the jersey, saying it needed to be destroyed.

The rivalry between the Flames and Oilers runs at a blood level, so to see one fan sit on both sides is completely mind-boggling. If he's a Flames fan that just really appreciates the greatness of McDavid, good on ya. He's still going to tear up the Flames like he has through his whole career, most notably to win the second round in 2022. You can't help but wonder what this fan was feeling watching this goal.

Hockey fans in Alberta are uniquely passionate about the game that no one else will fully understand ever, and that's totally okay. This guy does what he wants to, and he clearly doesn't care what anyone else thinks.
