Hockey fans everywhere have been completely stunned by the sudden and tragic passing of the Gaudreau brothers after they were struck by a drunk driver. At NHL rinks everywhere, fans have been leaving items as tributes in memorial of the brothers - especially in Calgary and Columbus.
It's been great to see the hockey world come together with these gestures in tribute to two great people taken too soon. The only exception has been the Bell Center in Montreal, where it appears the organization doesn't want tributes to Gaudreau on the property. Habs fans on social media have been noticing fans leave tributes for Gaudreau, only for them to be gone the next day.
Fans claim that this has now occurred multiple times, leading many to wonder if the Habs organization is responsible, perhaps nothing more than a team policy.
It would make sense if the team was removing tributes as part of a policy, but when players in the past have passed away like Guy LaFleur in 2022, there was a memorial at the arena for some time. Fans will be waiting to hear an answer from the Habs organization, but it's incredibly unlikely they'll get one.
