Canucks nearing massive eight-year contract with Elias Pettersson

It's news that will make Canucks fans smile. Moments ago, NHL insider Frank Seravalli has revealed that there has been significant progress in the contract negotiations of Canucks superstar Elias Pettersson.

It's emerging that the Canucks are poised to lock up their star to an eight-year deal who will continue to anchor to their core group. Pettersson has been instrumental in the resurgence of the Canucks after the team was dismal last season.
His season has been fantastic as he has played 61 games, has scored 29 goals , 46 assists for 75 points and is a +15.
His contract number in dollar value has been speculated over the last few months and with a few comparable that have emerged, it's likely the Canucks will be north of 11-12 million per season. It sounds like this deal could be announced with next few days.
