Connor McDavid has a legendary message for Oilers fans
The Edmonton Oilers are looking to make history with a Stanley Cup Final comeback, kicked off by a legendary message from McDavid to Oilers fans.
After Game 3, McDavid told fans to just keep cheering, stressing his belief that the Oilers aren't done in this series. In Game 4, he followed that up with a four point performance and beat Gretzky's record for most assists in a postseason.
Every time the Oilers have lost three games in a row this season, the team has rallied back to win 4 or more consecutive games in response. If they can do it now with their backs against the wall on the biggest stage possible, these McDavid quotes will live on as one of the most legendary in all of hockey.
They won 4-straight games 7x this season. Every time they won 4 (or more) consecutive games it came after losing 3-straight
With a commanding 8-1 win over the Panthers last night, the Oilers proved they can not only beat the Panthers, but still overwhelm them with their elite offence. It was the first time this series outside of game 1 that the Oilers truly played their brand of hockey, and if it continues, this series could get very interesting.
Being led by McDavid with unwavering confidence in the most dire situation, as well as leaning on Duncan Keith and team psychologist George Mumford, the Oilers could have begun something special last night.
