Oilers superstar Connor McDavid spoke to media after the first practice with Team Canada today in Montreal, touching on Crosby's injury scare and the great experience of playing with Canada.

Sidney Crosby sustained an injury in a Penguins game last week, and missed multiple games and practices while trying to nurse an injury. Crosby has now officially declared he will play.

Connor McDavid speaks to media following first Team Canada 4 Nations practice

Speaking to the media after practice, Connor McDavid looked genuinely in awe of the talent of the team, and looked thrilled to play alongside Canada's best - especially Crosby.

It was really fun. I mean - really high pace, lot of skill obviously on the ice. Yeah, it was really, really fun to be a part of.

Obviously, we were concerned about [Crosby]. You never like to see anyone get hurt, but great timing that he looks so good out there. Looks ready to roll.

McDavid extended the thought to say that multiple other players were pushing through injuries and problems to play in the tournament. McDavid himself may be one of them, as fans have speculated him to be playing through illness in the last few weeks.

Connor McDavid playing on first line, first powerplay on Team Canada

Connor McDavid won't be playing on a line with Sidney Crosby most of the time, though. McDavid will center the first line in between Mitch Marner and Sam Reinhart.

Two amazing players. Reinhart obviously scores lots of goals, great shot, so smart. Mitch obviously the playmaker, plays up high in the zone. Definitely a good mix.

Their 5 on 5 line combination is easy to see - Marner acts as the playmaker, Reinhart as the sniper, and McDavid as the elite option for both.

McDavid will share the ice with Sidney Crosby on the powerplay too, which will be absolutely stacked with Canada's most elite talent.

Watching Team Canada will be a surreal experience for hockey fans after missing the NHL in international hockey for years, and it looks like an equally amazing experience for McDavid and the players.

Hopefully, the league's first attempt at international hockey turns out well, and can be repeated.
