Coyotes terminate contract of forward after troubling video surfaces

Last night, a troubling video surfaced on Ruzicka's Instagram story of him around alcohol and drugs. Out of respect for his privacy and to not share a low moment, we will not share the video.

Ruzicka made waves in his 117 games in the NHL for being an emerging player coming out of Calgary. Drafted by the Flames in the fourth round of 2017, Ruzicka has developed into a strong two way bottom six player with great analytics. Just a few weeks ago, people were puzzled why the Flames decided to place him on waivers, where they lost him to the Coyotes. He's played just three games with Arizona now before his contract has been terminated.

An announcement that Ruzicka would be entering the NHL's player assistance program would not be surprising in the coming hours. Hopefully, he still has access to those benefits although his contract has been terminated. We're all hoping for the best for Ruzicka at this time.
