Sidney Crosby continues to show NHL fans his dominance along with his ageless play as he continues to rattle off stats even at the age of 36 years old.

During their game against the Detroit Red Wings, Crosby tied former Oilers icon Wayne Gretzky for the seventh most goals with a single franchise.

Crosby spoke after the game and reflected on being recognized with this milestone.

«Any time you can be in (Gretzky's) company, I think it's definitely a good thing,» Crosby said. «Usually (Gretzky) or Mario (Lemieux) are kind of on their own for most things. It's nice to be there.»

As of late, the Penguins have been pushing hard to try to make the playoffs and after gaining these two important points against the Detroit Red Wings, the team now sits five points out of a second wild card spot.

«I think we're all pushing,» Crosby said. «We're all trying to do what we can to put ourselves in that position. We've got to go a game at a time and get points.»

Throughout the year, Crosby has not shown any signs of quitting and continues to be the engine for this Pittsburgh team even though times are tough. Through 67 games, he has scored 33 goals with 35 assists for 68 points and is a + 5.

This summer Crosby will be allowed to talk an extension with the Penguins as many feel this will be his final contract. It's highly anticipated that he will sign an extension with the team and finish off his career as a Penguin.
