Earlier today, reports surfaced that former Calgary Flames forward Dillon Dube will be signing with Dinamo Minsk in the KHL.

Dube is one of the five players that is currently awaiting trial for their involvement in the 2018 World Juniors Scandal. Dillon Dube, Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, and Alex Formenton are all former NHLers that have been charged for an assault that happened in London, Ontario when they played for Team Canada. The case will be back in court on August 13th to set the trial date.

Earlier this week, Michael McLeod also signed a contract to send him to the KHL, with Barys Astana.

It's expected in the coming weeks that every other player involved in the scandal will receive contract offers from KHL teams. Whether they accept the offers and take their careers to Russia is up to the players, but they may be summoned back to Canada to have their day in court. The government of Canada will have to grant their release to leave the country, but they will not be able to escape justice if they're found guilty.
