Yesterday, the Florida Panthers flight to Edmonton experienced some extreme delays due to weather, and some Air Traffic Controllers took the opportunity to make some jokes.

In a video obtained by Sportsnet, Edmonton Air Traffic Controllers poked some fun at the Panthers flight delays and their domination of the series so far, jokingly asking if they could divert the flight.

I've got about a two hour hold for you, or whatever it would take for you to be low enough on fuel that you will have to divert from Edmonton. Mention it to your passengers, maybe they'll figure it out.

Showing just how big hockey is in Canada, some other voices chimed in on the Air Traffic radio laughing about the delay and the jokes, as well as wondering how it could affect tonight's game.

Panthers coach Paul Maurice reveals how the flight delay affected the team

With the massive delay came massive speculation on how it could affect the outcome of the game. If anything the big delay could disrupt the Panthers and benefit the Oilers. Paul Maurice shot that idea down, saying the only thing it affected was the coaching staff's diet.

Tonight the Edmonton Oilers need to take advantage of a potentially tired Panthers team, and the home ice boost from the fans at Rogers Place. It's a must-win game for the Oilers tonight, and it needs to be a full team effort.
