Making this statement means that Crosby it's close to signing a new deal which has been rumoured to be three years and $10 million a season.
Malkin went further to say that he spoke to Crosby and the Penguins captain reassured him that they are the Pittsburgh Penguins and that he has no intentions of going anywhere else. Over the past several months, numerous rumors began to surface of a potential exit out of Pittsburgh as Crosby is 36 years old and looking to chase another Stanley Cup.
The 36-year-old center had another incredible year even though the Penguins fell short of the playoffs. He played all 82 games, scoring 42 goals with 52 assists for 94 points. With the Penguins trying their best to get back into the playoff race there was even discussions of him becoming the MVP of the league as the team continued to claw back into contention.
That of course was not the case and the Penguins failed to make it and now many questions circle the Penguins on their future and how they will move forward.
It's clear at least to Malkin, that he expects his two long time teammates to remain with the team and finish their careers together.
