A fan had a custom made half Panthers, half Oilers jersey with Matthew Tkachuk's name as well as Connor McDavid. For simplicity's sake, we'll call it the Tkavid jersey.
It's understandable for hockey fans who aren't fans of either team to dial in and watch a game, but this is a prime example of a jersey foul. Supporting both teams in the Stanley Cup Final in this way is hilarious, bizarre, expensive, and not even cool. Playing both sides in the most intense games in hockey takes the fun out of even the consequence of goals.
With the passion of Oil Country travelling all over North America, there's been some incredible custom jerseys seen this season. A great example would be this fan's legendary 297 McDrai jersey in New Jersey. That fan is at least solely representing one team and two players' legacies - not playing both sides like Tkavid.
It's always a morbid curiosity to see these tacky jersey fouls and wonder what went into the creation of such an abhorrent object. However this Tkavid guy could do a whole interview explaining the decision, and it wouldn't make it any less wrong.
