Stuart Skinner explains Oilers loss to Panthers in game one
The Stanley Cup finals are underway and the hype is at an all time high but the Oilers lost game one in which Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner explained to the media why it happened.
The Oilers were dominant in shots on goal as they held a 32-18 advantage. The Panthers also blocked 21 oiler shots which showed that the Oilers were even more dominant. But it was Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky who was the difference in the game.
"We really pushed, Bob was absolutely massive for them."
It was important that the Oilers started on time and pushed the pace of the game as both teams had a weeks worth of rest and preparation for this series. The Oilers responded and did everything they could to try to put one past Bobrovsky.
The Oilers will have to wait till Monday June 10th in order to respond to this game and make adjustments to their forward lines including possibly putting a player in front of Bobrovsky so he can be screened which could lead in a tip in goal.
It's going to be a great series, and the Oilers look prepared for it. Game 2 will be played at 8:00 PM eastern.
