In the last two weeks, Rangers forward Matthew Rempe has been taking the NHL by storm. The 6'7, 240 pound rookie has entered the league seemingly on a mission to fight everyone. In his first 5 games, Rempe has fought every game and has a whopping 32 penalty minutes. With all this fighting, fans are actually beginning to get concerned for Rempe, and when he showed up to practice today looking battered, those concerns grew.

Rempe's nose is ridiculously swollen and he's got a black eye for the ages, and yet he's back on the ice and preparing for their game tomorrow night against Columbus.

Fans are starting to get concerned for Rempe's health, and imprint him to slow down with the fighting. The science around repeated head traumas is damning, and if he wants to have a longer and healthier career, he does need to start minimizing the repeated head contact.

At the same time, it's incredible to see a 21 year old monster rookie come into the league and pay his dues in the old fashioned way, taking fights with prominent enforcers to make a name for himself - and also obliging anyone else as part of the hockey code. Still, he has a comically low amount of ice time to be involved in this many prominent fights.

All NHL fans should be cheering for this kid to have a long career, so we can see more of these thunderous fights.
