A new Heritage Classic Jersey has been released by the Edmonton Oilers to honor the Edmonton Mercurys, a team from the 1950s with a rich history.

In keeping with the familiar style of the crest, the Oilers nixed the Leaf in favor of the Oil drop.

Since the jersey may be considered gaudy and ugly, fans are not so thrilled about the new release.

While the design calls back to the classic Mercurys, many Oilers and NHL fans do not like it.

The jersey itself, may have the final say as when the Heritage Classic takes place on October 29th, we will see whether they pop or not.

Those are so ugly

Celebrating the great pipeline leaks of history?
