It was revealed today by Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy that former Edmonton Oilers prospect Raphael Lavoie will make his Golden Knights debut against the Dallas Stars.
Bruce Cassidy confirmed Raphael Lavoie will make his VGK debut tonight. He is listed as #62 on the roster but he wore #36 in morning skate today. Will become the first skater (Logan Thompson wore it) to wear #36. The 24-year-old forward by the Oilers back in 2019, second round 38th overall. The Oilers had high hopes that he would be a threat on their front lines as he stands at six foot four and 216 lbs but he was unable to crack the line up and spent four seasons with the Bakersfield Condors.
Lavoie had tough time adjusting to Vegas system
After being picked up by the Golden Knights on waivers, he had a tough time adjusting to their system as he only had one assist and was a - 6.
Since those early days, he played 29 games, scoring nine goals with seven assists for 16 points and had 30 penalty minutes.
This is a far cry from his last year with Bakersfield as he had played 66 games, scoring 28 goals with 22 assists for 50 points and had 64 penalty minutes.

Oilers looking to build from three game winning streak
The Oilers, meanwhile, are looking to build off their three-game winning streak as their homestand continues.
The Oilers won against the Seattle Kraken 4-2 and is preparing for the arrival of the Detroit Red Wings who will play against the Oilers on Thursday January 30th at 9:00 PM eastern.
Even though Lavoie has found a new home in Vegas, the Oilers appear to be unfazed and will be looking at their own prospects in the coming weeks as the team prepares for the March trade deadline.
The Oilers next opponents are the Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
