Hurricanes goaltender pulls out bizarre celebration after win
One of the most interesting young goalies to watch has been Pyotr Kochetkov, both because of his on-ice play and because of his unpredictable personality. He has had some hilarious moments in such a short NHL career, and with the way he has been playing it seems like we'll be seeing quite a bit more Kochetkov in the future. After last night where he recorded a shutout against the New Jersey Devils, he had a hilarious celebration with his teammates.
Goalies always have the reputation of being very odd, and in the NHL it definitely holds up. With guys like Kochetkov, Campbell and Bryzgalov there are no shortage of hilarious goalies. It's good to have players like this in the league, because then the NHL can market NHL players as interesting to pull more people in to the sport. Hockey players have a reputation for being boring and serious, but they have to capitalize on the guys like Kochetkov who just make the NHL fun.
