Moments ago, Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe was given a major penalty and ejected from the game for his incensed comments towards the referees after a brutal penalty call.

The Leafs were trying to mount a comeback against the Vegas Golden Knights, and were down by two goals when Mitch Marner was called for an absolutely awful tripping call. Marner's stick never touched the Vegas players' feet, and Keefe never stopped yelling at the referee about the call until he was ejected.

It's honestly good to see an NHL coach step up and give the referees deserved criticism for an awful call at a brutal time in the game. More often, referees are making themselves the stars of the show with awful calls than just allowing the game to be played. Even though it's the Leafs, all hockey fans will be behind Sheldon Keefe on this one.
