Reports have surfaced by Frank Seravalli of the dailyfaceoff.com that Stanley Cup champion Nick Cousins has changed his representation after no significant offers have been presented.

Cousins has changed his representation to Craig Oster who works for Newport Sports. Many felt that cousins would have been signed by now after a month and a half of free agency. But with teams' budgets fairly set and the free agent money starting to dry up, it's clear that a change was needed to see if this could spark any free agent offers.

The 31-year-old forward has an interesting career when it began in 2011 when he was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers, third round, 68th overall. He has been well known for delivering controversial hits and plays against other opponents that have drawn anger towards him by many fan bases.

Last season, he saw a drop in his production where he played 69 games, scored seven goals with eight assists for 15 points. It will be interesting on how teams will approach him for a contract as he had just won the Stanley Cup but he had one of the lowest productions in points in the last five seasons.

Newport sports is one of the more prominent sports agencies in the NHL and with numerous players including his former teammate Sam Reinhart represented by them, it's possible a new contract will be coming his way shortly.
