The St. Louis Blues alumni organization has generously donated $10K to the family of former Oiler Kyle Brodziak's family after a horrific accident this week.

On August 13th, Kyle Brodiziak's brother and nephew were walking their dog when they were struck by a vehicle out of control. Kyle's brother Ryan is paralyzed and in need of emergency surgery, while the 11-month old Ozzy is recovering from a skull and arm fracture. Their dog is recovering at home.

It's a fantastic gesture from the Blues and their alumni to a former player, and hopefully the Edmonton Oilers will follow suit shortly after. Plenty of other figures in hockey have also shared ways to help the Brodziak family.

Kyle Brodziak was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 7th round of the 2003 draft and played five years with the Oilers at the beginning and end of his career. The St. Paul, Alberta native was a hometown success story, and went on to have an impressive career of 917 games. He played three seasons for the Blues between 2015-2018, where he must have made a huge impact on the community as well. This accident is truly heartbreaking, and the entire hockey world is with the Brodziak family at this time.
