Phil Kessel meets with Canadian team to imminently sign contract
The Vancouver Canucks are looking like a Stanley cup favourite this year, especially after adding Zadorov and Linholm to the lineup recently. There is one thing that this team could use, and it is playoff veteran experience.
Now according to GM Patrik Allvin, Kessel has been confirmed to be in Vancouver, and will be working out with the Canucks' AHL team this week.
Guess who was just seen at the Vancouver airport. Phil the thrill, who could be a huge addition to locker-room positivity and motivation for the team, especially in playoffs.
Phil Kessel and leading Jack Adams candidate / head coach of the Canucks Rick Trocchet go way back and have years of chemistry. Trocchet was assistant coach on the Penguins when they won back-to-back Stanley cups in 2016 & 2017. He was also head coach of Arizona when Phil was there.
According to Rick Dhaliwal, Trocchet stated «There's value in Phil, I think he can still play, 100 percent».
Could Phil finally start playing in the league again after his long non playing drought? Stay updated with our page.
