Prospect Beckett Sennecke is shocked to be picked in the Top 3

The Anaheim Ducks went off the board with the third overall pick in tonight's draft when they selected Bennett Sennecke, and even Sennecke himself was shocked that he was picked.
When Sennecke heard his name called well before he expected, him and his family were visibly stunned. Sennecke himself stood up and repeated 'Oh my God' and 'What the f**k' while embracing his family.
The Toronto-born winger was expected to go closer toward the end of the top 10, but the Ducks see something in him to warrant a massive reach with a valuable top three pick. In 63 games with the OHL's Oshawa Generals last season, Sennecke scored an impressive 27 goals and 68 points, but even that isn't the production you'd expect in Junior from a 3rd overall pick. Fans went online to share Sennecke's reaction and the shock that he was picked so high.
Speaking after being drafted, Sennecke didn't hide the fact that he was surprised to be drafted so high. He even admitted that he didn't know anyone with the Anaheim Ducks, and didn't even meet with the team prior to the Draft.
«I was super shocked, obviously my face kind of said that all. That was definitely an unexpected moment.»
We'll have to see in the next few years if Sennecke makes the Anaheim Ducks look like geniuses for the stretch pick, or if they were trying to overthink it.
