Rogers place threatens to remove alcohol due to unruly fan behaviour
With the crazy energy of the Oilers-Kings series so far, fans of both teams have been absolutely electric. During the playoffs teams will hold official watch parties at their home arenas, and the Oilers fans in attendance have seemingly been taking it too far and risk losing the ability to buy alcohol at these events.
Despite dominating game 3 against the Kings, fans were documented doing some absolutely stupid things. Throwing beer cans, becoming violent and starting fights. There were more fans caught on camera being extremely drunk and violent, resulting in many fights being filmed and uploaded online.
These kinds of fans have been an issue in Edmonton before as last year they had even worse issues, with fans getting stabbed at the watch party after game 6 against the Kings. Despite what is supposed to be an amazing event being put on, some awful fans just ruin it for everybody.
Because of these fans, people heading to the watch parties really need to be aware. There are always going to be people who can't handle their alcohol and they are apparently at risk of ruining it for everyone. Hopefully the fans can clean up their act and if you're going to one of the watch parties, just be wary of fans who are looking for someone to fight.
