Campbell has represented Canada several times at the world juniors, IIHF championships, and the 4 Nations Cup, as well as playing four years of College Hockey and three years in the old Canadian Women's Professional Hockey League.
She was hired by the Kraken's AHL team as an assistant coach in 2022-23 for her first professional coaching experience, and was part of a long playoff run this season. She'll join Dan Bylsma's new coaching staff next year as they replace Dave Hakstol and his staff from the previous season.
With so many qualified women to be professional coaches, it's great to see Campbell break the barrier and become the first woman to join the NHL coaching ranks. This is a significant win for women, the NHL, and a great hire by the Seattle Kraken.
