Singer explains why she butchered National anthem at all star game
Last night, the MLB Home Run Derby saw one of the worst National Anthem performances ever by country singer Ingrid Andress, and today, she explained why.
Ingrid Andress put out a statement on X explaining that she was intoxicated during the performance, and is now checking into rehab.
»I'm not gonna bulls**t y'all, I was drunk last night. I'm checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to the MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I'll let y'all know how rehab is I hear it's super fun.»
- Ingrid Andress
Hearing this explanation, it truly makes sense why the anthem sounded the way it did. She had lost all rhythm to the song, all notes, and was entirely out of it - so much so that players were openly laughing on the field. It's great to hear that she's now getting help, and taking this moment to better herself.
Unfortunately for her, this anthem will live on in the memory of all sports fans as perhaps the worst anthem of all time. Every sports fan has seen someone butcher the anthem for whatever reason, but this one might hold the top spot for a long while.
