stat reveals Bettman dislikes Canadian teams
Hockey in the desert and the Arizona Coyotes are closely associated with Gary Bettman's leadership.
However, during his time as commissioner, there has been a decline both in Arizona's performance and the Canadian teams' access to top NHL talent and Stanley Cups.
This is evident from the fact that Canadian teams have not won a Stanley Cup in the 30 years of Bettman's tenure.
Moreover, a 2014 study found that Canadian teams lose 57% of their talented players to regions with lower tax rates, with teams like the Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens, and Edmonton Oilers having some of the highest tax rates.
This year, there was hope for a Canadian team to finally win, but it appears that this trend may continue.
