The Canucks showed promise this season with their first playoff berth in years, but now won't be able to keep two critical players in Nikita Zadorov and Dakota Joshua.

According to new reports, Zadorov and Joshua have priced themselves off the team, and both players will test free agency.

Nikita Zadorov is looking to cash in on an extremely successful playoffs with a contract as high as $6M for the next 6 years. Dakota Joshua is just looking for $3M on his next contract with term, but the Canucks are stuck at offering only $2M.

Losing both of Zadorov and Joshua to free agency will be a significant blow to the Canucks. Both players encapsulated the heartbeat of the team, especially through the playoffs. Along with also likely losing Filip Hronek, the Canucks are going to look much different at the beginning of next season.

On the other hand, it sounds like the Canucks are making a hard push to re-sign their top trade deadline acquisition in Elias Lindholm. He was instrumental in their playoff success, and according to reports, Canucks players are seriously lobbying to keep him on the team next season.

After taking the Oilers to a seven game series without Thatcher Demko, things are looking extremely positive for the future of the Canucks. They'll have to navigate a tough offseason losing some key players to their playoff lineup, but with their core of young talented players, they'll surely be back for next playoffs.
