It's been one of the biggest mysteries in this year's opening round of the playoffs where Maple Leafs William Nylander has been absent from the Bruins series.
After missing three games, Nylander was on the ice for practice earlier today and spoke with the media to which he described the absence as personal.
«Look, that's just personal,» Nylander said about what has kept him out of the series. «So I'm not going to get into that.»
Nylander was reluctant to go into detail to why he has been away from the game and that he keeps stating he feels good and has been watching the series from home. Nylander's very relaxed personality continued to show as he told reporters that you can't force yourself back into the game which gives the impression that this ailment is out of his control.
«It is what it is,» Nylander said of the stress surrounding not playing. «There's nothing to really to really stress about. You can't really force yourself back into the game.»
Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe weighed in to what he has seen from Nylander's game and whether he would be ready to return to the ice and suit up for Game 4.
«He looked great to me on the ice,» Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe said. «In terms of his status, we'll have to determine that tomorrow.»
Much has been made across the Internet to why he has been absent Ann news broke yesterday when 32 Thoughts podcaster Elliotte Friedman announced that Nylander was suffering from migraines.
Nylander's absence has been felt throughout the line up as the Maple Leafs power play has been sputtering. Nylander has a knack for weaving and winding his way through the opponents which gives the Maple Leafs an edge in offence. He can be placed anywhere in the lineup and be effective which is another aspect of the Leafs offence they're lacking.
Time will tell on whether he will be ready for game 4 which will be held on Saturday April 27th and game time will be at 8:00 PM.
