In the first day of Stanley Cup Final media availability, Hyman thought back on Toronto and his decision to come to Edmonton as the best decision of his life.
Hyman went on to speak at length how he thought Edmonton was his best chance to win a Stanley Cup, and the team he contribute most to on the journey to winning one. He's looking like he's absolutely right, as Hyman leads the Oilers in goal scoring with 14 on the way to this Cup Final.
When asked directly if contract negotiations about salary was the reason he left Toronto, again Hyman denied it. Hyman seemed to have been eyeing Edmonton for some time, and was itching to make the jump when he could. He would've played for his hometown Leafs his entire career, but when they weren't interested, the Oilers were right there.
Now, Oilers fans are extremely grateful to have the beast that is Zach Hyman on the first line of their Cup Final team. Hyman's work ethic has translated to immense success, and as the trials get bigger, Hyman will only continue to elevate his game. If the Oilers win the Cup, Zach Hyman will be one of the most important factors toward it.
