Patrick Kane's journey to recovery has sparked widespread curiosity about his comeback to the NHL.
Edmonton Oilers on Kane's Radar
Kane's agent, Pat Brisson, made it clear that they won't rush into a team decision. Recent talk has linked Kane to the Edmonton Oilers, a top contender in Alberta, according to Sportsnet NHL Insider Elliot Friedman.
There's a catch, though. The Oilers would need to shuffle their salary cap to make this happen due to their tight finances. Kane seems open to the idea of donning the Oilers' jersey if a trade and contract offer align.
During a recent chat on Hockey Night in Canada, Friedman said,
"I think it's possible he's going to start narrowing down some of the teams that he's interested in and are interested in him. I still think he's a few weeks away from playing, but I think we're getting at least a few days closer to him narrowing down the list."
Friedman's take suggests that Kane's return to NHL action could be just a few weeks away. In the meantime, he'll be weighing his options and considering potential teams.
