This seesaw season continues to show that the coaching change that was made at the end of November was the right call as the team continues to build off more wins than their losses.
Today, it was announced that Oilers forward Dylan Holloway is ready to return to the ice after being off with an injury since mid-November.
Since joining the NHL, Holloway has been plagued by several injuries that have kept him out of the lineup. The Oilers have high hopes for him as he was pegged to be in the top 6 as he was drafted in the 2020 entry draft, first round, 14th overall.
With the Oilers entering a lighter schedule in January, the team is continuing to win games. It certainly takes the pressure off to rush him back to the lineup and gives him a chance to get his skates going.
It's important they ease him back into game action as the Oilers will face a grueling second half with eight back-to-back games down the stretch.
The Oilers will be at home to face the Ottawa Senators on January 6th. Game time will be 10pm eastern.
