Many thought the team wanted to continue where they left off prior to the playoffs where they were the most dominant team in the West.
Of course, general manager Ken Holland made a tough decision and decided to fire Jay Woodcroft and Dave Manson. That decision was his best as general manager as the team has completely changed course and looks more like the team, we all expected.
As the Oilers beat the Montreal Canadiens tonight 2-1 in overtime, this has put the Oilers on a 10 game-winning streak which would seem impossible earlier on this year. As they were near the basement of the Western Conference now are currently in a wild card spot trying to solidify their position with well over 35 games left to play.
Evan Bouchard had the game winner has been one of the most consistent and great players of the Oilers this season. His stats have been fantastic and continuing to trend up. I feel he is one of the slickest puck moving defenseman in the Western Conference if not the NHL.
Bouchard continues to pile on the points as he has played 39 games, scored ten goals with 30 assists for 40 points and is a + 5 and is working off a team favourable 2 year bridge deal worth $7 million.
With stats like those call you would think he would've been chosen for the All-Star game this year in Toronto.
