Even though a lot of NHL fans don't watch the NHL all-star game, one of the biggest things to watch out for is always who gets brought into the all-star game. There are always people who are left out who should be voted in, and vice versa. As obvious this year, two names who definitely should be participating are Zach Hyman and Evan Bouchard, who have oddly been chosen to sit this one out.

Commissioner Gary Bettman decided to change the rules to require one representative from each team, which is a joke when you consider that the Blackhawks have no representative who should actually make it, and that is taking up a spot in the game for a guy like Hyman or Bouchard.

Bouchard has put up a very impressive 9 goals and 39 points in 38 games, while also being a positive +/- when his main detractors would always complain about his defense. Hyman on the other hand has 42 points in 37 games played, while being on track pace for a crazy 57 goals per game.

The fact that these two players were left out of the all-star game is a massive joke, as the whole fan vote portion makes it a popularity contest. With 4 Canucks players and 3 leafs players, it is obvious there is a massive bias towards certain teams. The fact that Morgan Rielly and Brock Boeser get in over even one of the Oilers players is awful, and just shows how much of a change we need in the representation system for the players selected.
