The frustration that has defined the 2023-2024 season appears to be reaching a boiling point for the Edmonton Oilers. Many players are expressing their frustrations on the ice, during practices, and in media scrums.

The Oilers didn't expect this kind of start after finishing last season on a high note and advancing two rounds to the playoffs.

Disappointing numbers are evident across the board, with McDavid having scored only two goals in seven games. One player, in particular, who has had a disappointing start is Oilers forward Evander Kane. Many believed that after his gruesome injury and a lengthy recovery period, he would regain his scoring touch. However, that has not happened, as he has only found the back of the net three times.

Following a 4-3 loss to the Dallas Stars last night, Kane expressed his anger and called out his teammates to put forth a better effort in their overall play.

The good news is that there is plenty of hockey left to play in the season, as they have only completed nine games of an 82-game season. While these points are crucial for solidifying their playoff spot in April, addressing any issues now would be more advisable than waiting until January or February.

With several players set to return to the lineup tomorrow against the Nashville Predators, it remains to be seen how the team will react and whether they will achieve better results.
