Holland was spotted scouting at the game between the Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators last night.
In previous weeks, the Oilers were connected to the Habs because of their obvious surplus in goaltending. Even after the Canadiens signed Samuel Montembeault to an extension, it's possible the Oilers could be interested in Jake Allen or Cayden Primeau.
However, the most interesting goalie for the Oilers was on the other end of the ice in Juuse Saros. While it's not likely that the Predators would be open to moving him, it's not out of the question. If the Predators continue to be non-threat for the Stanley Cup, the team could think about trading Saros before his contract is up at the end of next season, which only pays him $5M annually. Waiting in the wings, the Predators currently have one of the best goalie prospects in the league, Yaroslav Askarov, ready to take his place.
What do you think? Should the Oilers go for a direct rental goalie from the Habs, or a big splash like Juuse Saros?
