Oilers forward reaches an incredibly rare achievement
Since head coach Kris Knoblauch took over the Edmonton Oilers, the team has rallied back to find themselves in playoff contention. It's been a massive effort for the entire team too, not just the stars. In the Oilers' last game against the San Jose Sharks, one depth forward who's finding ways to contribute reached an incredible rare achievement.
After scoring in the first few minutes of the game against San Jose, Oilers' forward Ryan McLeod did the impossible by scoring on four straight shots over the course of three games.
Of course, there was luck involved in this incredible run for McLeod, but it's proof that he's been finding his offensive game and has been shooting a hot stick lately. Later in the game against the Sharks however, McLeod recorded another shot but didn't score, and so his streak has ended at four.
With these kinds of offensive contributions from the depth forwards, and assuming the stars are still scoring at unbelievable rates, the Oilers easily form the most formidable forward group in the NHL. Hopefully they can keep up this production and success and battle back into a playoff spot again.
