With the Oilers game 7 just hours away, it's hard not to feel the gravity of the game coming up. With the Canucks having shown two different sides of their team in the series so far, it's hard to predict how this game is going to end up.

The Oilers are very capable of winning if they stun the rookie Silovs like they did in game 6. The Canucks have been good against the Oilers when they play at their best, so the Oilers need to try and keep the offence up and not let them play their game. People always talk about the Canucks' regular season sweep of the Oilers, but when 3 of those games came in the Oilers' historically bad start of the season, Oilers fans were never worried about that. The Oilers have shown that they can even the series and are more than capable of taking game 7.

The Oilers are aware of the pressure that they face, as this season is definitely do or die for the team. With their lack of cap flexibility, the team is getting close to the apex of its talent and will soon have to decline from a lack of new developed talent coming in. Guys like Holloway and Broberg will have to take that next step to become full-timers and have the future of the Oilers on their backs.

This leaves McDavid and team with a huge responsibility; go out there and win. If they can advance past the Canucks they look towards a matchup against the stars, one that will only be tougher than this one. They need to go show that they can be resilient just like they have done all season, and keep their season alive with the vigor of beating an opponent who has got the better of them all season.
