Cam Talbot responds to Oilers fans jeering their former goalie

Just prior to puck drop, Oilers fans were ready to chat and drone camp Talbots name to rattle him and try to give the home crowd an advantage. For Talbot, a former Oiler he chose to tune out those chants and turn it into his own motivation.

Talbot and his Kings were looking to even the series in Game 2 as the series was switching to Southern California. With all the Talbot jeers that were going on throughout the first period, it began to backfire as kings defenseman drew Doughty scored their third goal with 1:58 left in the first. Doughty show draw motion towards the Oilers crowd as he celebrated that goal.
Talbot's coach Jim Hiller praised his goaltender as he outdueled Stuart Skinner And made that one extra save to help preserve the win.
«He had a big hand in winning us the hockey game (Wednesday night),» Kings coach Jim Hiller said. «Somebody asked me (in the) morning if I heard the Talbot chants (during Game 1) and I didn't. I heard them prior to the game for sure.
«What do you say? The fans are on him. He goes in there, he wins us a hockey game. We get to overtime. He makes some big saves and the guys leave with a win and now we're squared up. So, I would say he's done his job pretty well.»
In the meantime, the Oilers will look to regain control of the series as it switches to Southern California. Both teams will need to find a way to tighten up their defence and bring the goals against under control as 20 goals have been scored through two games.
Game three will be held on April 26th and game time will be 10:30 PM eastern.
