Canadian celebrity reveals incredible personal experience with Zach Hyman
Zach Hyman has endeared himself to Oilers fans and has carved out an incredibly successful NHL career, despite never being the most purely talented player. In fact, it's Hyman's dogged work ethic which separates him most from other players - and it's why he's only continued to get better over time.
Recently, Canadian comedian Gerry Dee shared an incredible story from Hyman's childhood, which shows what kind of person he's always been.
In a Twitter post, Dee revealed that his brother coach Hyman since he was 10 years old. On a stacked minor league team also including Jeff Skinner, Tyler Toffoli, and Devante Smith-Pelly. According to Dee and his brother, Hyman was obviously never the most talented kid on the team, but he was always the hardest working kid in every game, practice, and shift.
From watching Hyman develop even from his early days with the Leafs, now to being the leading scorer on a team with McDavid and Draisaitl - it's been incredible to see that hard work really does best everything else.
Now in 54 games this year, Hyman has scored an insane 37 goals, and is pacing for a career year with near 60 goals. Signed as a long-term Oiler on a contract that many across the league thought would age poorly, Hyman's work ethic is continually bringing him success, and shutting up his doubters.
