Coach Paul Coffey has ice cold reaction to Oilers loss
After the Oilers lost Game 3, cameras panned to assistant coach Paul Coffey as all the players were leaving the bench and he had a cold reaction to the latest loss.
The reaction was listless and stunned that his team are down 3-0 in the series an it seems no matter what the team does to make adjustments or to counter the Panthers they just seem to come up short. Coffey is fierce competitor and it's quite likely that his reaction was how many felt after the game.
Hiring Coffey was one of the main reasons the team turned around from late November and being 31st in the league. He gave the Oilers defence core a shake up and made them grasp the concepts of his style of defense.
This position that the Oilers are in is certainly not common for Coffey as he won 3 Stanley cups with the team during the 1980s and 4th one with the Penguins in the early 90s. He is an Oilers legend and a hockey Hall of Famer.
Both Kris Knoblauch and Coffey will need to dig deep into minds and try to take this one game at a time and win Game 4 to send it back to Florida.
Game 4 will be on Saturday June 15th and puck drop will be at 8:00 PM eastern.
