The away Oilers jersey was sold on the NHL's official auction site where tons of game-memorabilia is sold.

The auction opened on November 16 at $25,000 and received a total of 71 bids before it closed and officially sold this afternoon.

The bidder who won the jersey clearly really wanted it, they paid nearly $70K for it, but the bidding process itself was wild.

The value of the jersey jumped by $2K across 3 bids made this morning in the span of only 4 minutes. Regular season game worn McDavid jerseys often go for around $25K.

It is quite a significant jersey for Captain Connor McDavid, and Edmonton Oilers history.

Being the jersey McDavid wore in Game 1 of the Florida series, it's the first jersey he wore in his first Stanley Cup Final appearance. McDavid is on pace to have a record-breaking and historic career on all fronts, and the first jersey he wore in the Cup Final would be an amazing relic to own.

Interestingly too, it's the jersey that Connor McDavid wore during his impassioned speech in the Oilers locker room after their loss in Game 2.
