Last night, the Oilers played a rare extremely poor game overall, and got spanked by St. Louis by a score of 6-3. However, one bright spot of the game was Corey Perry, who scored his first goal and got his first fight with the team.

Down by two goals heading into the third period, Perry got tied up with Blues defenceman Marco Scandella, and dropped the mitts trying to spark the team. Perry was able to get one hit in early, but with neither player being a real fighter, Scandella just pushes Perry into the boards and onto the ice.

To bring the Oilers within two goals, Perry showed off some nice hands and his finishing abilities around the net. Off a rebound, Perry calmly collected the puck, let Binnington fall out of position, and shot it into the gaping net. He scored his first before Connor Brown!

Despite the Oilers loss, Perry finally arrived in his full potential with the Oilers in this game. Missing a lanky two months and being now 38 years old, Perry may have needed some time to get back up to speed, but now he looks great and fits great with this team.
