The Two Mutts Hockey Podcast is reporting that Evander Kane has sold his Edmonton home to teammate Adam Henrique. Kane and his young family will be moving into a new home in Edmonton that they've custom built - a sign that Kane's heavily invested in his future in the city and with the Oilers.
Just last week, Evander Kane announced his engagement to model Mara Teigen on social media. The couple has two young sons, and Kane also has one young daughter from his previous marriage. With all the kids present in Kane's proposal and now moving into a custom built home, it's clear that Evander wants to make Edmonton his home for the rest of his NHL career and beyond. It's incredible to see Kane thriving off the ice with his young family.
Heading into the upcoming season, Kane's status on the actual roster remains unclear. There's been reports that he may require surgery to rectify an injury before the season begins, but most recently, Stan Bowman said he would personally provide an update when they received more knowledge on his treatment.
At this moment, it seems most likely that Kane will begin the year on the long term injured reserve. The 33 year old forward is under contract for two more years at $5.125M. The Oilers may not be able to fit him on the roster and get under the salary cap this year, but maybe he can make a comeback on the playoff roster, and be a difference maker at the most important time of the year.
