Florida Panthers Matthew Tkachuk was on the Cam and Strict podcast today revealing his hate towards Edmonton and why he gave the Calgary Flames a shoutout during his Stanley Cup interview.

Tkachuk explained just prior to his interview with Sportsnet a Panthers PR consultant told Tkachuk that he should give a shout out to Canada as he has many family members in various cities and how much the Flames gave him the start of his great career.

Tkachuk was quick to point out how much he hates the Edmonton Oilers which he felt needed to be added to his thank you message. He was the primary agitator during the Battle of Alberta as he was drafted by the Calgary Flames in 2016, first round, 6th overall.

His breakout year was this final year in Calgary when he played 82 games, scoring 42 goals with 62 assists for 104 points and was a + 57. Ever since he's been elevated to superstar level and has gone to the Stanley Cup finals twice and has won the cup that last year.

It's safe to say that hate is mutual between both Tkachuk and Oilers fans as both sides are only able to see each other a couple of times a year or in the Stanley Cup Finals.
