Moments ago, the Edmonton Oilers have entered uncharted territory since 2021-22 losing five games in a row and it appeared that Leon Draisaitl showed anger towards goaltender Stuart Skinner as they were leaving the ice.

The incident occurred as the game came to an end with the Oilers leaving the ice and the camera caught Draisaitl kicking the bench door and looking right at Stuart Skinner as he stormed off down the tunnel with the rest of his teammates. Skinner can be seen saying something to others and they tap him for support.

Road trip going from bad to worse for Oilers

This road trip is turning into a nightmare for the Oilers as they have not looked good since the re start of the NHL season after the Four Nations face off.
The goals against continued to pile up as they have now allowed 21 goals against has Stuart Skinner continues to struggle with soft goals especially his third goal against at 9 minutes left in the third period which put the Panthers up 3-2.
It's clear that his confidence is gone, and the team's confidence is also crumbling because their goaltenders are having a hard time stopping shots. That goal was certainly questionable as it went by his glove easily and was not challenged by the netminder.

Oilers management continue to insist goaltending isn't an issue

Over the past week, general manager stand Bowman has alluded to the idea that he is not looking to acquire a new goaltender at the NHL trade deadline. He feels that these games are one offs and that the overall picture is still good for the Oilers and their defense.
But Oilers fans are saying otherwise including some pundits that there is trouble brewing in the Oilers organization and they have now allowed 10 points to evaporate which could have put the team firmly in control of the Pacific division.
The trade deadline is set for next Friday and the Oilers certainly will be busy as they continue to scour the league for defence, secondary scoring and now likely a goaltender.
It's clear they cannot seem to find their game at the wrong time of year when points become valuable and the games get tighter.
The Oilers will conclude their road trip against the Carolina Hurricanes on March 1st and game time will be 7:00 PM eastern.
